Beacon Information ServiceOne out of five children you know will encounter a child predator. Will they know how to stay safe from people who mean the harm? A child’s safety and security is a primary concern of parents and the school. However, they can only do so much as there are many variables and factors beyond their control. Bullies, abductors, violent kids, drug pushers, child abusers, sexual predators, internet predators – these are some of the threats that your child may face in you absence. How should they confront these?Ultimately, your child must be empowered to face these situations. Thus, building their confidence and protecting them from long term effects of such negative experiences. Beacon Information Services together with Lakbay Kalikasan recognize the need for parents to protect their children and to equip them with survival skills against hostile and an unpredictable world. Helping Children Protect ThemselvesOur program is divided into two categories: children and teens. Each category is further divided into different levels that take into account the child’s maturity. We begin with teaching basic security awareness and concepts – such as honing the children’s intuition in distinguishing between perceived danger and actual danger, and how to mitigate these threats – based on pro-active approach to these situations. Towards the end of the program, the material will mature to leadership training and teaching skills needed for emergency situations such as calamities. The entire program is intended to teach proper social values, such as patriotism, self-reliance, helping others, helping the family and ultimately, helping the community. Beacon Information Services
